In recent years, it is reported that several kinds of flavanone glycosides contained in citrus has anti-allergic effects. Especially narirutin, a kind of flavonoid in “Jabara” is highly concentrated in comparison with other citrus and also is contained almost as single-ingredient.
Effect of narirutin
Inhibitory effect of narirutin on type I allergy (pollinosis, atopic dermatitis, allergic asthma, urticaria, etc.) is found in research. The content of narirutin in Jabara surpassed that of any other flavorful acid citrus.
“Jabara” peel contains 13 times more narirutin than its fruit juice. On the other hand, peel of citrus fruits contains ingredients which can induce allergy by oxidation. Also Jabara contains the same in peel.
Development of Hypo-allergenic composition
Jabara laboratory, the company in Wakayama collaborated with Osaka University of Pharmaceutical Sciences to solve the problem and has developed the method to eliminate ingredients inducing allergy. This technology has been patented as hypo-allergenic composition.
